Brihaspathi Technologies Hyderabad executed an end-to-end and state of art CCTV surveillance project at the prestigious RASHTRIYA ISPAT NIGAM LIMITED' Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Under the name of "Manakosam" and in association with Visakhapatnam City Police, Brihaspathi Technologies has offered its innovative CCTV surveillance system to Rashtriya ISPAT Nigam Limited' Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. This is a very prestigious project for us as it meant working closely with officials from Rashtriya ISPAT Nigam, as well as the Vizag Police Department. The challenges of this CCTV surveillance project were met with the right technology and innovative strategies.
Established in 1970, Vizag Steel Plant is one of the integrated steel plants of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. Its range of steel products includes Forged Rounds, Re-bars, Rounds, Wire rods Coil, and Structurals. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Township (VSPT), also known as Ukkunagaram ('Steel City') was developed on 8000 acres of land, providing housing and accommodations for many of the employees. The township has 8200 dwellings spread over 12 sectors and 3900 acres, as well as a green belt of 4260 acres.
For Brihaspathi Technologies, creating a Steel Frame of security for Vizag Steel Plant was quite challenging. One, the demand for latest and innovative CCTV surveillance systems had to be met. Second, the areas of strategic and commercial importance had to be kept under continuous surveillance. This demanded the selection of right type of cameras for designated locations across the Steel Plant.
The team of technical experts visited Vizag Steel Plant, and coordinated with the official team to demark and identify the right spots for installation of CCTV surveillance systems. The team could successfully install 85 outdoor IP based CCTV cameras and 5 PTZ cameras in 30 strategic locations across the Steel Plant. The whole of the CCTV surveillance system at Vizag Steel Plant was enabled by 32 channel DVR (SAMSUNG).
